  • Who are Fat Hosting?
    Fat Hosting was set up as a privately-owned, independent web hosting provider as part of the Fat-Man Collective. (www.fat-man-collective.com)
  • Why are you called Fat Hosting?
    We believe that hosting should be as simple as a muffin - we like chocolate muffins.
  • What do I get from Fat Hosting?
    * Ludicrously simple hosting services
    * You get a plain text speaking support service
    * Power - or - access to our online Plesk centre where you can manage your account.
  • Which Fat Hosting product is right for me?
    We have four straightforward packages for you to choose from:

    Small:
    Recommended for a single personal website that has low storage & bandwidth requirements.
    The geeky details: 4 GBs of premium storage, 10 GBs of monthly transfer, Single domain licence (1 site), 10 email accounts, PLESK control panel, Ticket Desk support, Emergency phone support

    Medium:
    Recommended for those who need a bit more juice, in the tank!
    The geeky details: 8 GBs of premium storage, 30 GBs of monthly transfer, Host up to 2 domain names, 50 email accounts, PLESK control panel, Ticket Desk support, Emergency phone support

    Large:
    Recommended for mutilple domain users who need a robust solution for all their hosting needs.
    The geeky details: 20 GBs of premium storage, 70 GBs of monthly transfer, Host up to 5 domain names, 100 email accounts, PLESK control panel, Ticket Desk support, Dedicated phone support

    X.Large:
    Recommended for companies that require a package that meets their business needs.
    The geeky details: 50 GBs of premium storage, 100 GBs of monthly transfer, Host up to 10 domain names, 200 email accounts, PLESK control panel, Ticket Desk support, Dedicated phone support

  • What do I need to get Fat Hosting?
    You need an email address and an existing domain name is helpful.
  • How soon after I’ve signed up for Fat Hosting can I use the service?
    We’re working hard to get new customers connected as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 72 hours for your Fat Hosting account to be activated.
  • Will Fat Hosting’s prices change in the near future?
    There are currently no plans to change our prices .If this happens though, we will inform all of our members in advance of any changes, may these be going up or even down.
  • What happens after I sign up?
    We will send you a confirmation email with instructions on how to proceed from there.
  • How and when will I be billed for the service?
    You are billed yearly in advance and the billing amount is calculated from the day that your Fat Hosting service is activated. The first deduction will be made from your account approximately 3 days prior to the service being activated. This invoice will cover our services from the day of activation to the end of the first billing period (12 months). If your order is provisioned on or after the 5th of the 11 months , you will also be debited for the next 12 month’s bill.
  • How do I report abuse?
    You can let us know at the following address: alarm@fat-hosting.com.
  • How secure is your online order form?
    Fat Hosting’s online order forms and account management tools use industry-standard SSL encryption - we use the highly trusted paypal system for billing. This means that you can be confident that the information you enter (including credit card details) will be safe.
  • How long is the Fat Hosting contract?
    For our Fat Hosting services, there is a 12 months initial contract period, then we simply ask for 30 days notice in writing to cancel your contract without incurring any additional charges for the next 12 month contract period.
  • Is the hosting truly fat?
    Just like the succulent chocolate filling in a fluffy muffin should be.
  • Can I set my own email or web server up while using the Fat Hosting services?
    Yes, providing you only use our services for legal purposes. If you would like to use your own email server, you’ll need to use our SMTP server for outgoing mail. Please contact us directly for more information, yes@fat-hosting.com.
  • What happens if my service is disrupted?
    We’re committed to providing you with a service that has as few disruptions as possible. In the unlikely event that you experience a loss of service caused by us for more than 5 consecutive days (small & medium accounts) and 24 consecutive hours (for large and x.large accounts), you will be compensated for each day’s disruption, by a reduction in your monthly service fee equivalent to the amount you would have paid for service on those days. In order to receive this reduction, you will need to notify us as soon as the service failure occurs and request the appropriate reduction by contacting member services when your service is restored.
